PVDF plastic - Polyvinylidene fluoride

PVDF is an opaque, semi-crystalline, thermoplastic fluoropolymer. The PVDF plastic is characterised by excellent chemical resistance without sharing the disadvantages of other fluoroplastics, such as low mechanical values or processing difficulties. The PVDF melting point is 171 °C.
Because the polymer PVDF has very good thermal and chemical resistance, it is typically used in chemical plant construction or as the lining for PVDF pipes or external components. It can also be used for gaskets, membranes and packaging films. PVDF plastic is a suitable material for metrology because, compared to other polymers, the high performance plastic exhibits strong piezoelectric effects after appropriate polarisation. Further possible applications are microphones, hydrophones, loudspeakers and actuators.

Manufactured PVDF products and PVDF parts

Ensinger is a PVDF manufacturer and PVDF supplier and offers the high performance plastic in the form of semi finished products in addition to making PVDF compounds and PVDF filaments. Furthermore, Ensinger is a specialist in PVDF plastic processing methods such as PVDF injection molding or PVDF 3D printing. Ensinger can also produce PVDF components individually according to customer requirements.

PVDF RODS and PVDF Sheets - manufactured PVDF stock shapes

By processing PVDF granules using the PVDF extrusion process, Ensinger supplies semi-finished products in various forms. Our PVDF material is characterised by a very high degree of purity and a low tendency to warp.

Ensinger is a PVDF supplier of shapes such as:

  • PVDF rod
  • PVDF plate
  • PVDF tubes, pipes and hoses in customer specific dimensions

PVDF polymer is manufactured by Ensinger under the brand name TECAFLON. The Ensinger TECAFLON PVDF family includes the following PVDF modifications:
