PC filament

TECAFIL PC FR - Cost effective flame retardant solutions

Ensinger's TECAFIL PC filament is a polycarbonate filament designed for additive manufacturing applications requiring flame retardancy without the extensive chemical, thermal and mechanical properties of more expensive options like PEEK or PEI. Tested to FAR 25.853, UL94 V-0 and EN 45545 (R22 & R23: HL3), our PC filament is approved for use in the aerospace and railway industries.

By incorporating flame retardant additives, we offer a cost effective alternative to inherently flame retardant materials, making it an attractive option for applications in industries with high safety standards, such as the aerospace sector or railway.

TECAFIL PC FR - for 3D printed parts in aircraft or railway interiors

Our polycarbonate 3D printing filament has exceptional mechanical strength and improved layer adhesion, ensuring robust and durable printed parts.

By adding flame retardant additives, we have created a filament that adds an extra layer of protection, contributing to the overall safety and reliability of components used in critical environments. Its flame retardant properties make it an ideal choice for applications that require heightened safety standards, such as housings, brackets or connectors within aircraft or railway interiors, without the need for more cost-intense alternatives such as PEEK or PEI. Its versatility and performance make it a preferred choice for engineers and manufacturers seeking to produce high quality flame retardant parts for cabin interior applications.

We are happy to advise you on the right material for your application.

3D Print Service - Ready-to-install parts

TECAFIL PC FR filaments have been developed for printing without a heated build room and are available with a diameter of 2.85 mm. The TECAFIL PC FR natural has been tested according to FAR 25.853 (a) and UL94 V-0, as well as EN 45545 (R22 & R23: HL3). Only printed applications and test specimens have been tested in accordance with market standards and regulations. All information on material properties as well as processing parameters can be found on the product detail pages.
