PPE plastic - Polyphenylene ether

PPE plastic, often referred to as PPO™ plastic (polyphenylene oxide), is an amorphous thermoplastic with high heat resistance. It has excellent chemical resistance to water and most salt solutions, acids and bases. PPE polymer also has extremely low moisture absorption and is not affected by repeated exposure to water. It therefore offers good electrical insulation properties over a wide range of humidity and temperature, as well as good dimensional stability.

PPE plastic material is rarely used in its pure form. It is mainly used as a PPE blend with other polymers such as PS, PBT or PA, or modified by blending additives such as glass fibres.

Manufactured PPE products and PPE finished parts

Ensinger sells semi-finished products in the form of PPE sheets and PPE rods. For subsequent processing, we offer the following options for finished parts: PPE machining and PPE profiles.

PPE rods and plates - manufactured PPE stock shapes

Modified PPE plastics are manufactured by Ensinger under the brand name TECANYL. Ensinger is a PPE supplier of shapes such as:

  • PPE rods
  • PPE plates

The Ensinger TECANYL family offers the following PPE products:
