Medical 3D printing

Additive manufacturing in medical field

Medical 3D printing makes it possible to produce components that are perfectly tailored to the needs of each individual patient. For example, prostheses, orthopaedic implants or dental crowns can be made to fit exactly. But it's not just patients who can benefit from 3D printing in medicine.
At Ensinger, we manufacture medical products that are tailor-made for the medical industry and can be produced cost-effectively and in compliance with regulations using thermoplastics. We can take your project from bespoke material through design to a market-ready 3D printed medical product.
Are you a medical technology OEM or a medical technology device manufacturer looking for individual, cost-efficient solutions for small series and prototypes? Then contact us here.

Medical 3D printing for safe, high quality and patient-specific parts

All process steps under one roof:

From compound and printable filaments to the design and implementation of your 3D printed medical application, we cover the entire value chain in-house. We work closely together across all business units to provide maximum flexibility, customised solutions and seamless batch traceability. For the highest level of quality, safety and service for our medical device customers.

Certified for use in the medical sector:

Selected compounds, filaments and test specimens produced from them by 3D printing for the medical sector have been tested resp. evaluated for biocompatibility according to standard ISO 10993-1, -4, -5, -18 and meet the specified requirements for contact of up to 24 hours with skin and tissue and, if applicable, indirect contact with blood.

Reusable materials & applications:

By using our special high performance plastics in combination with our manufacturing technology, applications can be realised that may come into contact with the human body more than once! The high level of sterilisation resistance to hot steam and chemical sterilisation. Sterilisation makes our 3D printed medical instruments a high performer in the operating theatre.

Custom and patient-specific production from batch size 1:

Medical 3D printing makes it easy to produce customised small batches. Even patient-specific applications from batch size 1 can be produced cost-effectively, safely and compliantly.
Our experts will help you find the right solution for your application.

From the compound to the 3D printed medical device: Ensinger one-stop shop

With our in-house compounding and filament extrusion as well as the close integration of the production areas, we offer a comprehensive portfolio of medical compliant materials, semi-finished products and applications. 3D printed trial bone plate

Bone plates play an important role in the treatment of fractures by holding the broken bone in place and allowing it to heal. Trial bone plates are used to help choose the right size bone plate. These can remain in the body for up to 24 hours and are subject to specific biocompatibility requirements. 3D printed TECAFIL PPSU MT blue trial bone plates meet these requirements and offer many advantages.
