Detectable PP-H compound for the food industry

TECACOMP PP ID 1014912 based on polypropylene homopolymer (PP-H) is modified with metal-based fillers and is very reliably detected by inductive metal and X-ray detectors in the food industry. Due to the blue colouring (similar to RAL 5000), fragments of the material can also be easily identified visually.

The compound with the Ensinger Detection Level High (tested by RONDOTEST), which is suitable for contact with foodstuffs in accordance with FDA and EU 10/2011, is permanently suitable for application temperatures of up to 100 °C, and up to 130 °C for short periods. Typical applications are bowls, cups or moulds in food production.

The base polymer PP-H has very good chemical resistance and very low water absorption. It has higher strength, hardness and stiffness than modified polypropylene copolymer (PP-C, e.g. TECACOMP PP ID blue 1052958), which in contrast has higher impact strength. Sample plates (80 x 80 x 3 mm), tensile test bars or a detection kit are available for detection tests.
