GLASS FIBRE REINFORCED PEI COMPOSITE FOR AEROSPACE APPLICATIONS

The composite material based on the amber coloured high temperature plastic polyetherimide (PEI) is valued not only for its fracture toughness and high mechanical strength, rigidity and toughness, but also for its visually appealing surface, which Ensinger offers in natural and black (TECATEC PEI GF50 S296 FR black) and can also be painted for an individual finish. 
The glass fibre reinforced PEI composite is electrically insulating and inherently flame retardant in accordance with FAR 25.873, making it suitable for use in means of transport such as aircraft, trains and buses.
Ensinger manufactures coated semi-pregs (CP) and fully impregnated prepregs (IP), which can also be further processed into multi-layer organosheets (OS) with a width of 1270 mm.
