TECATEC PC GF50 S296 CP/IP/OS FR V01 natural
FLAME RETARDANT POLYCARBONATE COMPOSITE
In some applications, particularly high safety requirements apply - for example in aviation or in passenger trains. In the interiors of aircraft cabins, for example, ventilation pipes or other plastic components must not be easily flammable and must not produce toxic smoke in the event of fire. Ensinger offers a glass-fibre reinforced polycarbonate composite material with flame-retardant properties.
TECATEC PC GF50 S296 FR natural (Flame Retardant) meets the requirements of the FAR 25.853 flame test, which is recognised worldwide.
The polycarbonate glass fibre composite plastic also combines very good mechanical properties with low moisture absorption and high dimensional stability. To produce the semipregs (CP) and prepregs (IP), a fabric made of continuous glass fibres is coated with polycarbonate and, for prepregs, impregnated and consolidated. If required, several layers are stacked and compressed to form organosheets (OS) up to 5 mm thick. Thicker composite sheets or thermoformed parts can be produced from these.
