TECATEC PAEK GF50 S296 CP/IP/OS V01 natural
GLASS FIBRE REINFORCED LOW-MELT PAEK PLASTIC
Ensinger is one of the few manufacturers to offer glass fibre reinforced composites based on low-melt polyaryletherketones (LM-PAEK). TECATEC PAEK GF50 S296 natural is chemically compatible with polyetheretherketone (PEEK) with virtually the same mechanical characteristics. However, it has a lower melting point (303 °C for PAEK vs. 343 °C for PEEK).
This enables, for example, an excellent bond to a PAEK insert component in the so-called overmolding process. In this innovative process, the glass fibre reinforced PEAK substrate is heated, molded, and overmolded with PEEK in the injection mold.
The advantages of composites with continuous fibre reinforcement can thus be combined with the cost efficiency and design flexibility of injection molding.
The process is particularly interesting for applications with the highest demands in aerospace, mechanical engineering and the oil and gas industry. Ensinger supplies coated semipregs (CP) as well as fully impregnated and consolidated prepregs (IP) and multilayer organosheets (OS).
