High strength POM-H optimised for dry-running sliding applications

Polyoxymethylene as a homopolymer (POM-H, also called polyacetal or polyformaldehyde) has high strength, hardness and rigidity. The thermoplastic is extremely wear-resistant and has low coefficients of friction, which have been further improved in the compound by embedding silicone oil and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) in the polymer matrix. This solid lubrication also makes TECACOMP POM TRM suitable for dry running.

Automotive applications and mechanical engineering are classic areas of application for the acetal compound. Sliding rollers and bearings in particular show excellent test values in oscillating applications. Moisture absorption and thermal expansion are low. The compound has very good heat distortion and creep resistance and can be used permanently from -30 °C to 110 °C and for short periods up to 150 °C.
