TECATEC PEI CF50 T200 CP/IP/OS V01 natural
CARBON FIBRE REINFORCED POLYETHERIMIDE COMPOSITE
Polyetherimide (PEI) is an amorphous, amber coloured, high temperature plastic. Its very high mechanical strength, stiffness and fracture toughness are further increased with a carbon fibre fabric reinforcement.
The inherently flame retardant PEI composite is used in automotive and mechanical engineering as well as for sports equipment. Another feature of TECATEC PEI CF50 T200 natural is its very good chemical and thermal resistance. The high creep resistance of the composite material is maintained over a wide temperature range from -50 °C to 180 °C, and operating temperatures of up to 200 °C are possible for short periods.
Ensinger produces the composite in widths of up to 1270 mm as coated semipreg (CP) and fully consolidated prepreg (IP). It is used in-house to produce multilayer organosheets (OS) and plates up to 95 mm thick (TECATEC PEI CW50 PL natural).
Where electrically insulating properties are required, the glass-fibre reinforced alternative TECATEC PEI GF50 T280 natural is ideal.
