TECATEC PA12 CF50 T200 CP/IP/OS V01 natural

PA12 COMPOSITE WITH 50 VOL% CARBON FIBRES

Compared to other thermoplastic polyamides, polyamide 12 or Nylon 12 is characterised by a very low moisture absorption and can be used permanently in a wide temperature range from -60 °C to 110 °C. In the composite material, a twill weave of continuous carbon fibres embedded in the polymer matrix improves strength and fracture toughness.
The electrically conductive carbon composite has a density of only 1.5 g/cm3, excellent mechanical properties and low thermal expansion. The chemical resistance exceeds that of PA6 carbon composite.
Carbon fibre reinforced PA12 is therefore often used in the chemical industry and medical technology, for example for X-ray stretchers, as the composite material is X-ray transparent.
Ensinger produces TECATEC PA12 CF50 T200 natural as coated semipreg (CP) and fully impregnated and consolidated prepreg (IP). Multilayer organosheets (OS) for thermoforming are also available.
