Flame retardant filaments for aerospace & railway

Materials used in the aerospace industry are subject to particularly stringent requirements and regulations. In addition to key characteristics such as maximum reliability, special protection against fire hazards, smoke generation and temperature resistance, the materials and components used must also meet the demands for more sustainable use of resources.
The use of high-performance plastics, with all their beneficial properties and wide range of application possibilities, offers many options in this respect.
With our flame retardant filaments specially developed for the aerospace sector, we offer 3D printing materials that meet the high requirements of the aerospace industry and are tested and certified according to FAR 25.853 and UL94 V-0.
Even complex geometries can be manufactured in a cost-efficient and resource-saving manner.

Our flame retardant filament portfolio

Depending on the application, various high-performance plastic filaments from Ensinger are suitable for use in the aerospace sector. In addition to inherently flame retardant materials such as PEEK or PEI, we also offer TECAFIL PC FR natural, a cost-effective filament that was developed specifically for use in aircraft interiors.
TECAFIL PEEK VX natural - 1,75 mm
TECAFIL PEEK VX CF30 black - 1,75 mm
TECAFIL PEI 9085 natural - 1,75 mm
TECAFIL PC FR natural - 2,85 mm
TECAFIL PPSU natural - 1,75 mm

Race Car Engine Components

made with TECAFIL PEI 9085

Flame retardant filaments for race car components

Our TECAFIL PEI 9085 filament is inherently flame retardant, certified to UL94-V0 and meets Flame, Smoke & Toxicity safety standards. 3D printed components made with the filament are therefore perfectly suited for race car applications. Together with development partner DREIGEIST, StarkStrom Augsburg e.V. successfully uses Ensingers 3D printing filament TECAFIL PEI 9085 natural for parts of the race car´s engine.
