TECACOMP PPA TRM XS mod. black 1054920
Carbon fibre reinforced PPA compound with optimised sliding properties
For this polyphthalamide compound, Ensinger uses the bio-based PA10T, which is obtained from natural castor oil. It has a lower amide density than conventional PPAs and therefore absorbs significantly less moisture. This results in better dimensional stability and higher hydrolysis resistance.
The glass transition temperature of the partially aromatic thermoplastic is approx. 110 °C, the melting point 315 °C. The compound with a low density of just 1.25 g/cm3 can be used up to 150 °C permanently and up to 250 °C for short periods.
To optimise the mechanical and tribological properties, carbon fibres and graphite are added to TECACOMP PPA TRM XS. The result is a compound with high tensile strength and stiffness as well as very good sliding properties, which are valued in the automotive industry and in mechanical engineering.
