The glass industry places very high demands on machines and tools for handling hot glass. Many materials cannot withstand the extremely high temperatures in combination with gentle glass handling. Ensinger offers a plastic solution that is perfectly suited to these requirements. Our TECASINT product line can be economically manufactured to tight tolerances and allow for gentler glass handling than graphite or brass components. Machining of the material is cleaner, easier and less damaging to tools than with graphite components.
Our technical staff will be pleased to advise on material selection, component design and sampling.
TECASINT products are based on non-melting polyimides and have excellent long-term thermal resistance. Even at glass temperatures above 500 °C, TECASINT materials do not melt or soften. Strength, dimensional stability and creep resistance remain high even in continuous use.
In addition to high temperature resistance, low thermal conductivity, high wear resistance and impact resistance are of great importance. Mechanical resilience and low oil absorption are also key requirements placed on the material in such applications.
Our portfolio includes the most common gripper inserts made of TECASINT 6032 for handling glass bottles.
Suitable semi-finished products in the form of plates, rods and tubes are available for special applications.
We offer a range of TECASINT modifications to help you choose the most suitable material for your application.
